To have empathy is to be human. It's what makes us what we are. The fact that witnessing another human, who you may not know or have any kind of connection with, in an extremity like this, and it's enough to make you scream and cry and feel pain, tells you just about everything you need to know about humanity. This is despite the cruelty that we are capable of.

To this day it makes me angry, sad and distraught to think about what went through the minds who had to make that choice.

I watch these every year and still feel the anguish and horror every time. 😢

Its odd that these vents take us out of our complacency....but we have these horrors every day. We kill between 3 and 4k per day via abortion. There's no widespread sadness, no resolve to make it end, nothing. In fact, we have loads of people doing everything they can to avoid giving these people the dignity of equality and protection. I confess I cannot look at a condoner of abortion any better than I do for those guys who flew into the towers. They are both examples of evil believing what they were doing was right.

The whole scene with the towers smashed into by huge jets burning , those alone were terrifying but then those poor souls still alive trapped between two evils , perish in a fire or jump to your death . Saddens me to know they had no choice .

All we could do is sit home and watch. The moments are glued in our heads. It's so saddening we have such cruel people in this world. They didn't care. All i can say, to the people who suffered this horrific scene, we were with you ever moment. Not a day goes by that we don't think about you. I hope the family members can find comfort and peace. 9/11 destroyed my faith in God. Absolutely wrecked it as we watched this happen to innocent people. I didn’t just give up on it, I made the decision to never believe in any higher power ever again. And my life’s been the same ever since.

The damage of 9/11 reaches much further than people realize. First off, in addition to the nearly 3000 deaths from the attacks, you have the 10,000+ cancer deaths from the people who worked down at ground zero. That in and of itself is staggering. On top of that you have entire families that were destroyed, kids that grew up without parents and were stunted as people because of it. Then you’ve got people that directly witnessed the gore and carnage firsthand like the cops, firemen and civilians who witnessed jumpers… those people all got first-rate PTSD as bad as any combat veterans would. Now they’re saying the entire friggin country and world as a whole likely got a collective mild version of PTSD that has messed us all up and effectively desensitized our world in a way that hasn’t happened since the world wars. We’re not even talking about the deaths and pain caused by the global war on terror… easily over 1 million people dead so far, and now Afghanistan is a breeding ground for terrorists again. Safe to say 9/11 set the world on a course to a very unhappy ending for us all.
